We’re fast approaching the end of the current liturgical year and the beginning of the new year on December 2nd, the first Sunday of Advent. This Advent let’s join with each other as a church family (young and not-so-young) on “The Road to Bethlehem,” highlighting the journey of Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem, their participation in the census decreed by Caesar Augustus (Luke 2:1-7), and the expectant mother and her Child.
Our children will entertain us with a skit about Mary and Joseph on the road to Bethlehem, and, as a church family, the children will help us take a “census” of sorts as a fun way of encouraging interaction so that we can get to know each other a little better. And then we will all help prepare baby baskets full of necessities for College Area Pregnancy Services (CAPS).
Since 2000, CAPS Pregnancy Clinics has played a critical role in saving unborn life every week as they help women and couples facing unplanned pregnancy choose life. In order to help CAPS, we as a church family will purchase items for the event. A sign-up sheet will be available on the Sundays in November. We’ll talk more about CAPS at the event and the various ways we can support it.
