business staffFather David J. Montzingo

David Montzingo, founding pastor of Holy Spirit Anglican Church, is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church of North American and a chaplain in the Order of Saint Luke the Physician.  He served three different churches in the Boston area from 1971 to 1987, and three more in the San Diego area from 1987 to 2009.  His strengths in ministry are teaching the Bible, healing those in need, and sharing the good news about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Fr. Montzingo is a graduate of Harvard University (B.A. 1971) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div. 1975).  He is currently completing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.  He teaches Anglican Studies at Bethel Seminary San Diego and spiritual direction for The Leadership Institute.

Fr. Montzingo was born in Buffalo, NY, and attended high school in Seattle, WA. He committed his life to serving the Lord Jesus Christ as a college student in Boston, MA. During seminary, he interned in campus ministry at Park Street Church, which gave him a life long concern for ministry to college students.

Fr. Montzingo and his wife Ruth have four grown children and one grandson. She is a graduate from San Diego State and a church musician.  Together they enjoy their family, good friends, beautiful music, serious reading, and baseball games (both the Padres and the Red Sox).

Amy Dewey is the Parish Administer for Holy Spirit Anglican Church (HSAC).  Amy is a born-and-raised native San Diegan.  She has been involved with college ministry for the past 6 years and really enjoys getting to know people and working with them during the transitions of their lives.  She also, helped start and led a contemporary service for the past seven years and delights in serving the Lord in any way she can.  Another way Amy likes to get involved is with youth – she volunteers to work with high school and middle school students in local and county wide settings.  In the future, Amy hopes to be a high school English teacher and to that end is in the process of obtaining her Bachelor’s of Arts in English with concentration in Linguistics at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB).

Additionally, Amy loves to spend time with her family and friends – laughing as often as possible.  She also enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, reading and writing (some day she hopes to publish).  In ten years she hopes to see herself as a wife and mother, but her ultimate goal in life is to serve the Lord wherever He sends her.

business staffRuth Montzingo

Our music director has had musical experiences in a variety of church settings.  As a pastor’s daughter she grew up in Artesia, California, in the Reformed Church of America, sang in the choirs and began accompanying weekly services for youth.   During her teenage years she took organ lessons.  After leaving the church for several years, she recommitted her life to God and was involved in the music program at Ruggles Baptist Church in Boston and the United Church of Christ in Everett, Mass.  Moving to San Diego in 1987, Ruth became a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in La Mesa and, later, at St. Luke’s in San Diego.  Ruth was the organist/music director at St. Luke’s from 1997 to 2005.  She also directed the choir at St. Luke’s, which was made up of young Sudanese women and others.   From 2001 to 2005 Ruth also accompanied the weekly mass at Nazareth School (Catholic) where her children attended.

For the last several years Ruth has studied at San Diego State University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music in 2009.
