Join Anglicans from around San Diego county on Saturday, October 12th for a fun barbecue at the Dos Picos Campground in Ramona. The barbecue starts at 4pm. Bring a side dish to share and a camp chair if you have one.
Life in the Anglican tradition is lived in a network of churches which spread throughout San Diego county, across the United States, and in 165 countries. While most of our time is spent in the local church, occasionally we get to enjoy the benefit of this larger family. Holy Spirit Anglican Church is part of the Diocese of Western Anglicans, a group of some 45 churches in 8 of the western United States. Because our diocese is so spread out, we have more local clusters of churches called deaneries. Our deanery is the San Diego deanery and includes 8 churches, all located in San Diego county.
During the second weekend of October (10/11-13) the deanery is hosting a campout at the Dos Picos campground in Ramona (17953 Dos Picos Park Road, Ramona, CA 92065). While there are a few spots left for the whole weekend, everyone is invited to come up in the afternoon of Saturday for a community BBQ to begin around 4pm. This is a great chance to meet other Anglicans, hear how things work in other churches, and otherwise have a good time.
If you do plan on coming, and would like, you may bring a side dish to share. The deanery is providing hot dogs and hamburgers for the grill. If you have a camp chair, you may want to bring it for seating. Also, the camp charges $3 for day parking.
This is a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with the wider church. If you have any questions, please contact Fr. Brian.
