When God raised Jesus from the dead, He provided for the healing – the restoration – of our relationship with Him. Through our baptism and by faith in Christ, we’re made members of God’s family, but we don’t come to Him whole. We’re broken works in progress, but with the Holy Spirit acting in our lives to set us free from bondage to sin and empowering us to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). On October 20th, during the time we usually devote to Prayers of the People, we will have a special healing service.
Even though many of us tend to think only of healing for physical problems, healing involves so much more: God made us body, soul and spirit. If you’re dealing with a difficult financial issue, God cares about that. If you’re having an emotional or spiritual struggle, God wants to give you that peace that surpasses our human understanding. God cares about every need of His children, just as parents care about the needs of their children. So, let’s trust that the God who loves us so much will be present to heal us, body, soul and spirit; take that step of faith to come forward during the time of healing to receive a touch of His great love.
The order of service will be explained that morning. As in the past, we will have prayer teams of 2-3 people in the front of the sanctuary to pray for your requests. In addition, we will have a prayer team go down to pray with the children during their lesson time.
